Substitute for mc ?

open the "Computer/System settings" menu and select synaptic....
enter your password
open settings/packagesources from synaptic's menubar.
uncheck the first three checkboxes, check the fourth to seventh one
instead and click ok.
click reload
after synaptic has finished its task, click search and type mc in the
search dialog.
mc will then be in the list in synaptic, locate and doubleclick it.
click apply....(in the next popup too)
after synaptic is done you got mc....
