Wine ?

Hi, I'm currently evaluation Ubuntu to be recommended to my friends 
(which are non-IT experts). Among their needs are Wine, to execute their 
  proprietary Windows software (Lotus Notes, etc)

However, I couldn't find Wine in Synaptic.

There are ways to install Wine in Ubuntu, but I'll very much prefer to 
install it via Ubuntu-supported package. Does such thing exist ?
