Newbie and using Ubuntu

One of the great strengths of Gentoo is the quality of the installation
guide, which covers many ways of installing.

It may be useful to offer common scenarios for popular hardware - a bit
like what the hardware wiki is trying to achieve, but in installation
guide form.

The Gentoo user forums are also a pretty good source of information -
perhaps phpBB (or something similar) could be useful for a searchable
FAQ (Yes, I moved to Ubuntu from Gentoo - I had hard disk borkage and
couldn't face recompiling my system from scratch)

Forums create a sense of community, and I think thats what Ubuntu is all
about.

Rob.
