If you must use an rpm, there's a fair chance you can convert it to a 
deb with alien.

Dependancies might be right, might be wrong. Different vendors have 
different ideas on how to package stuff, and often one source package 
results in several binaries packages. Sometimes, vendors even change 
their mind during the life of a single release: some years ago RH 
introduced glibc-common as part of the glibc set of packages resulting 
in General Confusion reigning for a time.
