I'm unable to print, also. Here is my cups/error_log:
I [02/Oct/2004:20:14:49 -0500] Adding start banner page "none" to job 2.
I [02/Oct/2004:20:14:49 -0500] Adding end banner page "none" to job 2.
I [02/Oct/2004:20:14:49 -0500] Job 2 queued on 'DeskJet-935C' by 'greg'.
I [02/Oct/2004:20:14:49 -0500] Started filter
/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstops (PID 5474) for job 2.
I [02/Oct/2004:20:14:49 -0500] Started filter
/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip (PID 5475) for job 2.
I [02/Oct/2004:20:14:49 -0500] Started backend
/usr/lib/cups/backend/usb (PID 5476) for job 2.
E [02/Oct/2004:20:14:51 -0500] PID 5475 stopped with status 3!
I [02/Oct/2004:20:14:51 -0500] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to
"debug" to find out more.
I installed pnm2ppa as you said in a recent message. I also installed
cupsys-driver-gimpprint as was mentioned in an earlier message on the
list. The only changes I made to printing was to add a local printer
through the "Printers" GUI. It detected my Deskjet 935C, and I
selected the Deskjet 935C driver.
By the way, I otherwise love Ubuntu. Thanks for the good work, and I
hope that I will one day be able to contribute to this effort.
