ATI update

Phillip, I think that these might be 2 different things--originally I  
thought that my problems were due to an ATI update, but really they are a  
sound problem... I don't ever get any error dialogues in gnome, but there  
was one person who claimed to have an ATI problem and said he got error  
messages in gdm--you might have the same thing he did.


If you check your /home/user/.xsession-errors log and see that it is  
filled w/ /dev/dsp errors (a LOT of them) then you have the exact same  
problem I do:
