The message in question was decidedly on-topic for this list, as it was
discussing hardware support for particular devices in Ubuntu.  There exists
no rule against referring to Windows in discussions on this list, and I
would consider such a rule to be counter-productive.  We are working to
provide an alternative operating system, and comparisons with existing
operating systems are unavoidable.

There are things to be learned from the market leader. :-)
