How Ubuntu installer auto setups XF86Config-4?

but surley just running dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 (and maybe 
renaming the old XF86Config-4, just incase), would do the job instead? 
(as this is still running the post-install script).

Sorry, my original post sould of said 'xserver-xfree86', rather than 
x86-xserver, I was tired and it was late.
