I tried to upgrade and it killed my install

Ben, see the thread under "Super-slow response, not quite dead".
Perhaps your sound subsystem is not working (since your upgrade, at
least). If you have patience you may get to a menu and then just very
slow response as I found.
For me the problem is absent in the Preview release and present with
later daily and Sounder #9. I can't get my USB drive working in any of
these setups.
