3Com Gigabit LAN not seeing Router or Net

Thanks Nick. I've just run opened Network settings and executed the
wizard that pops up. I selected Automatic(DHCP) and then OK, OK, etc.
The "Active" check mark appears briefly and then resets.

Any idea how to get it running right?
