3Com Gigabit LAN not seeing Router or Net

If ping is giving the message "network is unreachable" then you haven't 
set your static ip settings right

basically all you need to be able to ping your router is an ip address 
and the correct subnet mask

dhcp should just work (it is set up out of the box for the linksys) 
unless you have specifically disabled it (which i don't see why you 
would have).

try using dhcp and see how it goes
