glX problem : no Alpha channel ??

Looking at the debug info I got when starting 'Search and Rescue', the
reason why I am not getting 3D despite OpenGL is working fine with other
games, might be the following:

--------
GW Debug: glXChooseVisual(): RGBA double buffer X Visual not available.
GW Debug: glXChooseVisual(): RGBA single buffer X Visual not available.
GW Debug: glXCreateContext(): Created glX hardware rendering context.
....
Search and Rescue requires an alpha channel, current alpha channel is 0
bits in size.
--------

A problem with that 'alpha' channel, and also some buffers apparently.

How do I proceed to give glX satisfaction then ??? :-/

Any help welcome...

Regards,

Vince
