Games : 'FlightGear' hangs ! :o(

I installed 'foobillard' from Synpatic, a billard game that defintely
uses Open GL. It says so at the top of the 'man' page ! Works perfectly,
great graphics and refresh rates.
So, if Open GL is working, why doesn't 'SearchAndRescue' use it... :o(

Probably need to figure out what this "alpha channel" error is....
