Hi,
unfortunately I still can't mount the pendrive, not even manually.

I did a modprobe sg, and the module gets loaded correctly. I can see
it from lsmod.
Then if I try sudo /etc/init.d/dbus-1 restart i get:

andrea at ubuntu:~ $ sudo /etc/init.d/dbus-1 restart
 * Restarting system message bus...
 * Stopping Hardware abstraction layer... [ ok ]
 * Starting Hardware abstraction layer...
 *sr/sbin/hald already running.                                          [fail]
run-parts: /etc/dbus-1/event.d/hal exited with return code 1

The usb pendrive doesn't get mounted, and again I have no /dev/sdaN or
/dev/sgN entry.

dmesg keeps on returning:

Buffer I/O error on device sda, logical block 0
hub 1-0:1.0: port 2 disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling...
usb 1-2: USB disconnect, address 2
SCSI error : <0 0 0 0> return code = 0x50000
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 0
Buffer I/O error on device sda, logical block 0
 unable to read partition table

Dunno what to do :(
