drunken mouse? 2.6 + usbmouse/usbhid

Ok, this is not really ubuntu specific, but it's still rather annoying 
and it's keeping me from switching one of my desktop machines to ubuntu.

I have a Fujitsu Siemens wireless keyboard which has an integrated 
touchpad. The touchpad works as planned with 2.4 kernels, but with 2.6 
kernels the mouse keeps wandering around. when i move the mouse left, it 
keeps on going (slowly) even if i stop moving my finger.

So far i've tried loading usbmouse manually and tried fiddling with X 
config, but i can't find any solution for the problem.

Has anyone else encountered something alike?
