Wireless PCI cards and archives

It's always good to check for hardware compatibility before you buy, 
especially for wireless networking.  Here's a list of supported and not 
supported cards.

For 802.11b
http://seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/Client_5fAdapters_5f802_5f11b

For 802.11g
http://seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/ClientAdapters_2f802_2e11g

http://linux-wlan.org has a list too.

Pay attention to hardware revision numbers if they're shown in the above 
lists.  Sometimes cards of the same make and model # will have different 
chipsets (meaning that they're really completely different cards).  I've 
seen this type of switcheroo happen with motherboards, too.  I wish I 
knew why hardware companies do this.
