Can't get new Radeon 9600se working

FYI, I had the same problem with lockups when I tried the fglrx driver
for Radeon 9100 (on an Asus Pundit-R).  I removed the package and
returned to "ati" and it got stable again.  Ok, I guess armagetron(6)
could have been better/faster on the fglrx - until it freezes. :-(

I tried to send a report to ATI, using the "ATI Linux driver feedback"
Web form of theirs, but that one crashed, too.
