Apparently, you completely misunderstood what I was trying to convey. :o

I didn't say that I wanted any of the things I mentioned, however the things
I did mention are some of the things which were touched on in some of the
reviews of Ubuntu I have read. This topic was started because some people
couldn't understand why Ubuntu wasn't getting better reviews at some sites.
I was simply stating my observations in regards to what I personally had
read at some of these sites.

The reason that I mentioned them here is that things like this are the type
of things that will draw new users to Linux...you know your average computer
users who are used to using Windows? Forcing a completely new Linux user to
have to install support for multimedia, Java etc., is completely insane when
they don't have a clue to begin with. That applies to Ubuntu or any distro
for that matter. No one is going to be able to get these people to switch
over to Linux without these types of things being done automatically during
the install.

Everything I said was repeated from some of those reviews and the fact
remains that to convert your average Winblows user to any Linux distro,
things like multimedia support being installed by default are going to be
absolutely necessary for any distro to succeed in that particular endeavor.

If that is not what Ubuntu is shooting for, then the point is entirely moot!
If that is the case, then people should stop worrying about the Ubuntu
reviews because these types of things are what the reviews are based on.

BTW, I like Ubuntu just the way it is as well, but that was not the point. :
)
