sda/sdb/sd* are SCSI devices.  Often the extra IDE channels on motherboards
are branded as 'RAID' channels and show up as SCSI devices after the
appropriate drivers are loaded.  (Or loaded with SCSI-emulation).

Could you tell us what type of Motherboard you're using and anything that
specifically mentions the chipset of the extra IDE ("RAID"?) channels?
