Did you try adding that directory as a source repository? (in
/etc/apt/sources.list ) It looks like the directory is set up to be
used that way. I'm not running Ubuntu on this machine so I can't
verify the apt sources directory.
That would keep apt from complaining HOWEVER you would really have to
trust whoever created those files because they could easily install a
rootkit on your machine that way.
