Applications should appear in the standard Applications menu ... you

If an application doesn't appear, it's either a bug with that
application or it doesn't require/deserve one.

This only applies for applications in "main", obviously.  Those in
Universe are unsupported ... a community effort to supply .desktop files
for them wouldn't be wasted though.
