Hello Wouter,

I want to say thanks in advance for your help.
I tried the reboot with the disk in the drive and it's still the same,
the dmesg output was the same and still entry fstab.

I tried running MAKEDEV -v hdc in the /dev dir and the output was:

Darkstar:/dev# ./MAKEDEV -v hdc
create hdc b 22 0 root:disk 0660
create hdc1 b 22 1 root:disk 0660
create hdc2 b 22 2 root:disk 0660
create hdc3 b 22 3 root:disk 0660
create hdc4 b 22 4 root:disk 0660
create hdc5 b 22 5 root:disk 0660
create hdc6 b 22 6 root:disk 0660
create hdc7 b 22 7 root:disk 0660
create hdc8 b 22 8 root:disk 0660
create hdc9 b 22 9 root:disk 0660
create hdc10 b 22 10 root:disk 0660
create hdc11 b 22 11 root:disk 0660
create hdc12 b 22 12 root:disk 0660
create hdc13 b 22 13 root:disk 0660
create hdc14 b 22 14 root:disk 0660
create hdc15 b 22 15 root:disk 0660
create hdc16 b 22 16 root:disk 0660
create hdc17 b 22 17 root:disk 0660
create hdc18 b 22 18 root:disk 0660
create hdc19 b 22 19 root:disk 0660
create hdc20 b 22 20 root:disk 0660

Then I did ls -l hd*

Darkstar:/dev# ls -l hd*
brw-rw---- 1 root plugdev 3, 0 Dec 30 11:18 hda
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 3, 64 Dec 30 11:18 hdb
