Hoary's QEMU on Warty

I'm running Hoary's QEMU on Warty after adding the repository and
building type-handling, vgabios, bochsbios and qemu from the source
packages.

QEMU launches fine, (now) correctly handles ne2k auto-configuration
from the Debian Sarge installer, but IP configuration using -user-net
& DHCP fails.  I'm wondering if this is unique to my setup or if
Hoary's QEMU has this problem in general.

Any tips?

The ISO I'm using for by Debian test hails from:

http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/sarge_d-i/i386/rc2/sarge-i386-businesscard.iso
