Xorg - no taskbar/dock/panel - HOARY

Hrm... I tried this, but still no good. No panel or anything. Everything
must be invoked from a terminal.

Does anyone know of any resources out there that could help me
troubleshoot this problem? I don't even know if it would be Xorg or
gnome or something else. I am completely lost.
