Syncing Treo 90 with JPilot on Ubuntu

Hello:

I am hoping I could get some help. After several hours, I finally manged
to get my Handspring Treo 90 to sync with jpilot. Then I tried to
install an application. When you choose "install" from jpilot, a window
comes up so you can tell jpilot what apps to install. I select an
application then hit "done". Then, when I try to sync, it pops up the
"install" screen again. When I remove the app from the install list and
try to sync, it doesn't bring up the Install screen but now it won't
sync at all. I get the following message when I try to sync:

 $ jpilot
pi_bind: No such file or directory
pi_bind Illegal seek
Check your serial port and settings
Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_BIND
Finished

Does anyone have any solutions or suggestions please? I really need this
to work and hate to have to return to windows to sync my visor and
install apps to it.

Thanks very much!

Margot Ross
