Compiling kernel: Kernel panic...

I have the same problem!

I cant work it out though..sorry :(

I have a feeling that it has something to do with initrd??

I too have definatly included my fs in the kernel as a "y" option and
have set root=/dev/hda1

i am confused...because my other box is running gentoo and I have
compiled the kernel in the same way on that at least 10 times and it
has worked...  :evil:
