Hello,

I still wonder why it isn't possible to change locale settings in Warty!

Currently locale is set to:

LC_CTYPE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

I'm trying to switch to de_DE at euro ISO-8859-15, by doing:

1) dpkg-reconfigure locales
2) selecting de_DE at euro ISO-8859-15
3) running locale-gen
4) test: locale

Is this not the preferred method to change locale settings in Warty?

There is some curiosity in the /etc/locale-gen file, that is labelled by
Nautilus as type= Genesis-ROM, mime type: application/x-genesis-rom.

Hmm, I've never seen such a beast before (have to admit that I never
looked for)! So I ask myself if this might be the source of all current
locale related troubles on my Warty box!
Does anyone have an idea regarding this issue?

Greetings

Thomas
