Hi ... I think it is a fantastic idea. I have only been working at
Linux for about a year now and I would say that about 50% of the
stumbling blocks I hit were the most simplest of ventures in hindsight,
the solutions were really straight forward but I never heard about them
until stumbling across them in unrelated forums and threads.
An example of which is how to install a program I have downloaded
rather than from a repository. As a newbie it is a massive mental jump
between using apt-get and a whole different type of command to install a
package... however easy it is in hindsight. Also simple understanding
of how things work only seems to come from making huge mistakes. So
anything like you are suggesting would be great to help the newbie
along.
As a style suggestion please look at this site: www.megapixel.net click
on articles on the left and then look through the 'photography tips'
section. Each one of these is invaluable help in learnign the basics
of photography and they are all set out really well with useful links
to all words that may cause stumbling points. I just thought it may
offer inspiration. Hope it helps
