You want to enable the remote desktop application Computer---> Desktop
Preferences ----->Remote Desktop

You have sharing options Allow Other Users to View Desktop and Allow Others
to Control Your Desktop selected

Under Security you may wish to enable a session password
Turn OFF Ask you for confirmation if you will not be present at the remote
desktop.

With these settings you should be able to connect using a VNC viewer using
the correct computer name at session start.

Out off the box Ubuntu VNC has confirmation enabled. This causes your
control viewer to hang waiting for the Ubuntu user to "enable" remote
viewing. This of course is to make any Ubuntu desktop user aware of a remote
"spying" session.

Hope this Helps.
