Hi all, thanks for the help both on and off list.
I renamed all myfiles by hand (29 !!) with XMMS tag editor (hadn't read
all your messages back then)
I have just checked "easytag", and it really doesn't look as "easy" as
the name suggests....and the interface is really really very ugly. I
uses the old Gtk. Had a look at gnomefiles.org, apparently there is a
Gtk2 version as well, but it's still ugly, it's not at all Gnome
friendly.
I think the best way would be to have a very simple tag editor built-in
in Rhythmbox, where you could correct mistakes like mine without having
to eidt all 29 tracks of the album, when all I do is swap the the artist
and album name, not edit infos particular to the file like the song name
of comments etc. So that's something for Rhythmbox team to work on ;-)
I hope they also work on the huge "sluggyness" of the user interface.
THe volume control is plain useless, because there is alwas half a
second between the moment you change the position of the sliderwith
mouse, and the instant the volume level actually changes...not very
practical. Same delay with the other controls, when you want press
"stop/play", or want to skip to the next or prevous track, nothing works
instantly like in XMMS or Gnome CD player for example.
I can't see any good reason why Rhythmbox would be so bloody slow at
reacting to user input. Any idea ?? :-/
Not the end of the world, but would be so much better if it was fixed.
Maybe that will be fixed for some future release...like the tag
editor...
Vince.
