Can't unmount USB volume

The reason that FAM is included is because GNOME and KDE both (like
to) use it. It saves a lot of effort and usually works like a dream.
Unfortunatly there seem to be some bugs in the Ubuntu version of FAM.

FAM is a wonderful thing for those that know how to use it; or so I'm
led to believe, I don't know how to use it. But perhaps the largest
reason for inclusion in any linux is that those that want powerful
components should be allowed them. I would hope that every linux ever
comes with certain tools such as gcc, coreutils, and some of the more
esoteric but incredibly useful programs such as crond and famd.

I hope this has at least answered your curiosity about its conclusion.
I also hope that you'll work with the Ubuntu devs in resolving the fam
problems so that we can have our cake an eat it too.
