Apple Mac : what model for Ubuntu ?

It is a major hoop jumping with anything on those machines, have one, I 
literally hammered hours away just to find the info out on how to get 
OSX on one of those.
Then there is the dreaded 9 gig primary partition limit....

The next problem is to get a decent graphical performance in case you 
want to run OSX or X-Windows, you have to add a graphics adapter and 
once you have done that you can go for a new world one as well.

But the machines are nice and the beige ones have one big advantage, 
they are the last ones with no fans internally.
