#_of_desktops

Having been inspired by this thread, I've now moved to four, in a 2x2
configuration. Now I've got the Ctrl-Alt and cursor keys method
'programmed' into my fingers, I'm discovering it's quite easy to hop
around!

I tend to leave Firefox on workspace 1, my development stuff (normally
a console and gvim) on workspace 2, my ToDo list (I'm using devtodo in
a transparent urvxt console) on workspace 3 and miscellaneous programs
(eg. The Gimp, XMMS) on 4 (when needed).

This is neater than piling things all on the same desktop and relying
on Alt-Tab - I can keep the relationship between several windows
constant (eg. seeing the GIMP control panels and image I'm working on,
flicking to the web browser, and then coming back to the GIMP and
finding it all still neatly laid out).

For my next trick, maybe I'll do away with the pager altogether! ;)
