Steven, my own (limited) experience : if you want to understand Linux
properly and as quickly as possible.....FORGET windows altogether ! Free
your mind, start from a clean sheet of paper.
At first I tried to equate M$ things to Linux, that only brought
confusion and mistakes.

Well, everyone is different I guess, YMMV.... ;-)
