Mmmmh, lsmod returns snd_usb_audio still as loaded.
Furthermore the GNOME Volume Control Applet controls my QuickCam
microphone and not my AC97 sound card.
Anyway on the CLI the command "alsamixer -c 0" allows me to control the
mixer of the AC97 device, quite strange considering that the behavior of
the GNOME Volume Control Applet as reported before.
Instead "alsamixer -c 1" should allow me to drive the QuickCam
microphone which is not the case.
