SGA .... PPPA?

Can you explain the sg and ppa modules. I have only loaded the
ide-floppy module in /etc/module

My presumption is that the sg module is for generic scsi device

APPENDING IN GRUB

How do I add append details in GRUB. I know how to do it in LILO and I
am having trouble finding good GRUB HOWTO. HOw do I do the equivalent
of
-append="hdb=ide-scsi"- in LILO?

I read it is meant to go after the kernel line so does it go

title Linux Distro
root (hdX, Y)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz.......
append hdb=ide-scsi
initrd /bootinitird
boot

MY INTERNAL ZIP 250
I currently have a Zip 250 ATAPI INternal that can be manually mounted
with no problems. But I cannot get it to work automagically.

I have loaded

my /etc/fstab entry is:

/dev/hdd /media/zip auto noauto,users,sync,rw 0 0

NOTE I do not use hdd4 which is what I would use on a Slackware 10 box
etc etc.

Now the only ohter catch is to make sure your BIOS is detecting the Zip
Drive Correcrly. On my AMBIOS I pick "ARMD" for my Zip Drive and its
Emulated as a Harddrive (Floppy Drive Works as well). Leaving the
emulation to auto doesnt work. The Zip 250 drive will now be detected
as a Zip 250 ATAPI Floppy.

Also make sure that your jumper setting is put onto SLAVE (A). If its a
SLAVE device

This should do the trick

ZIP 100 SCSI INTERNAL

This has no problems. I just put the disk and voila
