THANK YOU !!! I just tried that, rebooted the machine 3 times, with and
without the disk in the drive. You are 100% correct, it NEEDS to have a
disk in it !
Weird. I hope this will be fixed for Hoary. I mean this has to be a bug.
It's a remoaveable media drive, the system can't possibly require a
media to be present in order to work, or, this would mean it's a fixed
drive not a removeable media !!

Does GRUB really has something to do with it ? Sadly I don't know much
about GRUB, I wouldn't know what to do with this 'hdd=ide-scsi' line :o(

Yep, don't use it often either, which is why it is annoying when it
doesn't work, because the rare times I want it to work, usually I REALLY
need it to work, so I am REALLY p****d that it does NOT work ! :-/
Now on to less important, albeit still annoying, issue : it won't eject
the disk ! Had a similar problem yesterday, because the disk was not
unmounted. But this time it IS cleanly unmounted, so *should* be able to
eject...but no, the ejection button on the drive doesn't work... need to
turn it off and on again :o(
So again, some polishing work is in order the ZIP dept. for Hoary... :-/
Regards,
Vince, getting there.....very slowly !
