It does no permanent damage. It changes something with the BIOS mode
setup, allowing you to use the otherwise non-supported mode (1280x800)
with X11. I found absolutely no problems with it.
The only problem I'm facing, is after a Linux session, I need to
shutdown, not restart. A restart will freeze the computer, whether the
2nd boot is to Windows or Linux. The reason? Could be 855reso, could
be ndiswrapper, could be something else? But that's not too bad.. :)
What's the model you're refering to anyway?
