I suspect you need to have the module Intel536ep.ko in the right place on
the system
for this to work. That's probably
/lib/modules/<kernelversion>/kernel/drivers/char as on
my system.
I actually did things with a rather clumsy startup script rather than the
right way though.
I think I may have to revisit this in the light of more knowledge.
Incidentally, the problem with using wvdial ppp0 (or whatever pppx exists)
as the
command in modem lights was that it isn't possible to turn it off
easily. (Starting is no problem.)
It should be possible to make a command that gets the process number for
wvdial
and then issues a kill to stop it.
This might be a route to getting modem lights to work with the exact same
configuration
as set up under the network settings dialogue, which would be nice.
