Hoary pitfalls?

Myles, I certainly understand your apprehension, but Ubuntu community
is just a bit more forgiving than your average linux list.
I have an NVidia card, admittedly an old one, and I've held off
upgrading because of the below warning, and because I can't really
afford to lose accelleration, being a character animator. I too
would love to hear what cajoling you had to do to get the new drivers
to work under Hoary and X.org.
