Look, Ubuntu is predominantly Gnome Based and it quit probably will
always be. The issue is to be honest if you dont like it dont use it.

Im not trying to say dont use ubuntu, yeah ubuntu is a good distro but
if people dont like fairly major things about it then why are the
using it?
there is a kde meta-package but IMHO i dont see why there should be one.

Every distro has its own characteristics and its a good thing to have
choice like that.

Sorry if my opinion looks a little extreme or like flame-baiting, its
not, its just my opinion
