Database application

Hello all, I've been wondering about this for a while now:
Is there a reasonably easy to use database front-end available for
Linux (ideally one that could work with Access .mdb files)?
I'm by no means a SQL expert and have now cut my teeth on MS Access
97. I really like what I can do with that program and would like to
develop skill with a free (both $$ and OSS) solution to manipulate my
data sets (is MySQL appropriate for this).
Either an Access- or FileMaker-like interface would be great, or, I
guess I could always invest some time in learning another (I'm not
quite up to full-fledged SQL yet... I know enough to allow me to do
the things I need to in MapInfo and Access).
Thanks, Eric.
