Sound gone since hoary upgradte (xine)

By the way, just disabling my sound server, and terminating esd ('sudo
killall esd') brought audio back to Xine.  It makes me really hope
Gnome does adopt 'Polypaudio'
(http://0pointer.de/lennart/projects/polypaudio/).

And by the way, Ubuntu's forums and forum registration is all so very
nice and pretty.
