Nuke my Gentoo, Fedora for Ubuntu?

I have Ubuntu on my laptop: AMD 1.4 mobile, 256 ram and an 32mb s3 video
card and it works great.
ubuntu is Debian based, so it has all the software debian does, see the
ubuntu webpage for some good info and basic questions on how it works.
but then again, I have always liked Debian.....
