Have you applied the patch to the pbbuttonsd source package which you

I've performed this steps already in the past:
. apt-get source pbbuttonsd
. patch -p1 < <patch-name>
. dpkg-build -rfakeroot -us -uc
. dpkg -i <patched-pbbuttonsd-package>
Which anyway did not solve the problem.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
