Greetings all,

First I want to thank Aaron for his hard work over the last couple of
years. Christer and Aaron built Ubuntu Utah on a strong foundation and
made it a standard that other LoCos look up to. I wish him well in his
future endeavors and hope to see him around more than just IRC.

I wanted to let you know I have requested the free books allowed for
LoCos. We should be getting The Official Ubuntu Book, The Official
Ubuntu Server Book, and the Art of Community by Jono Bacon in the next
few weeks. As soon as I get them in, I will like you know so we can
start passing them around. I also should be getting some extra copies of
Ubuntu User magazine in September or October and will bring them to our
next meeting.

I have been updating the Ubuntu Utah wiki
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UtahTeam) and wanted peoples input. The one big
change I have made is moving the Nick list page to a Members page
sorting people by regions of the state
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UtahTeam/Members). I'm hoping this will help
build membership in other areas of the state other than the Salt Lake
and Provo/Orem areas. Please update the Members page when you get a chance.

For the September meeting, I was going to suggest an InstallFest or just
an IRC meeting, unless someone else wants to present something. I
thought an InstallFest would be a good idea, with all the returning
students at the U and BYU. Please let me know what you think. Also the
Ubuntu Global Bug Jam (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGlobalJam) is going
to be on the 2nd - 4th Oct 2009. Do we want to setup a meeting around
that to help stomp out some bugs?

Thanks for your time. If you need to get a hold of me feel free to
e-mail me (mike.basinger at ubuntu.com) or call my cell phone (before
9:00PM) at 1-801-712-2003.

Thanks,
Mike
