I'm excited to announce that Mike Basinger has accepted the position to
lead the group. Mike is an approved member of the Ubuntu community, on the
Ubuntu Community Council and an Ubuntu Forums administrator. There is no
doubt in my mind that he will lead the group well.

The reason for me stepping down is multi-faceted, and it comes with some
bittersweet feelings. First, I am attending school fulltime as my employer
is willing to pay my tuition. On top of that, I have started a new company
with Christer Edwards. I'm working fulltime and also raising a family. I
just don't have the spare time I did a year ago, and as a result, I won't
be very effective with the group. I'll try to remain active on the mailing
list, and you can catch me online in our IRC channel and Jabber, but I
won't be attending in person meetings, probably until after I graduate.

I wish the group the best of success. It's been fun.
