I have the following computer tech position open in my department for
$38,000 a year.

	Job Summary
	As a member of a team, the Systems Specialist is responsible for the
deployment and maintenance of the desktop environment of library
faculty and staff users. This includes but is not limited to
workstations, printing, and all other peripherals. Major duties
include maintaining PC hardware, aiding Sr. System Administrators in
the continual design of a secure Windows environment, aiding in upkeep
of all Windows domain user accounts and profiles, assist with
maintenance of library network. Evaluate new technologies and Open
Source solutions for inclusion in computer systems used by Library
faculty and staff.
	Responsibilities
	Provide hardware and desktop support for all library staff and faculty PCs.
Provide 1st tier support for Library faculty and staff.
Provide new client PC hardware solutions with the input of the group.
Research other desktop platforms, such Windows Vista and Linux.
Assist in upkeep of all Windows 2003 domains.
Assist in the development of mass deployable software solutions.
Assist in training for Library faculty and staff.
Continual self-education of new technology developments.
Provide support for other library applications and users as needed.
Provide multimedia support and information for the group.
Other duties as assigned.
	Qualifications
	Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. At least two
years of progressively greater experience working with computer
systems in the areas of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting
PC Systems based on the Windows XP and Windows 2003 operating systems.
Excellent technical skills with a demonstrable track record of
computing accomplishments are necessary. Candidate must have
familiarity with PC hardware, knowledge of Windows XP and Windows
2003, including command line interface. Knowledge of Windows desktop
and server application installation experience will be needed.
Knowledge of Linux is desirable. Experience with Perl or Windows
scripting will also be helpful.
