I have recently renewed our conference room application for the Salt
Lake City Library. Please note the following dates and times on your
calendars for our monthly meetings. Our times have been extended and we
now have a larger room based on our continued growth. Also, below are a
few items I would like some feedback on.
Meeting dates & times:
Jan 13th, 3:00pm - 6:00pm
-Room D, Level 1.
VOTE NEEDED:
Feb 3, 17 or 24th are available. Let's take a quick vote on what is
best for everyone. I'll need to notify the Library by Mon so please, if
you have a preference, put in your vote soon.
March 10, 3:00pm - 6:00pm
- Room 3
April 21, 2:00pm - 6:00pm
- Room 3 : Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty" Release Party!
May 12, 3:00pm - 6:00pm
- Room 3
June 9, 3:00pm - 6:00pm
- Room 3
I would also like to get a volunteer for the dates of Feb, March, May &
June to present on one of the below topics (or a topic of your choice).
"Explanation of the Open Source Licenses and changes proposed in GPLv3"
"Ubuntu Gaming" - (Tristan?)
"Basic programming" (python, mono, bash scripting, etc.)
If I don't get any volunteers I may approach some of you personally to
present. I know there is something each of us can offer the group,
don't be shy!
Ooh, one last thing. What are the thoughts on meeting lengths? It
seems our previous 2hr block runs a little short. Is 3hrs better?
More? We actually have use of the room from 2pm - 6pm. I know a
presentation of that length could be a lot to take in so I have only
scheduled presentations (as above) for 3hrs but perhaps that extra time
could be used for tech support? chit-chat? meeting new faces?
I hope to see everyone next week. Let me know if you have any
questions.
