Introduction

This list is typically pretty quiet, but it's nice to see some
discussion. I suppose I can chime in with my introduction.

I first started using Linux in 1994, when I installed Slackware Linux
on my 486/50 PC. It worked very well, and I had it set up to establish
a PPP connection to my ISP.  Ubuntu is now my favorite Linux
distribution, although I've used other distributions as well,
including Redhat, Mandrake, Gentoo, etc.

I live in the Dallas area, and I currently work as a software engineer
in the security industry, and I use Ubuntu both at home and at work. I
have worked as a sysadmin in the past, but I prefer development over
operations. :-)
